Wedding/Reception? We are having a simple wedding with a fingerfood reception, however, I want it to be an elegant reception. I was wondering if anyone knew of any cute fingerfood that would be cheap to make or buy. Also, I am completely new to a wedding - I have looked on websites but nothing is really telling me anything. Can someone please tell me play by play so to speak about the ceremony - or a traditional ceremony to be more specific, and also about the reception. This is my first wedding and my parents and my fiances parents havent planned a wedding (they just had a simple one) so I am needing like a LOT of help with this. If you have great ideas and templates for programs and invitations etc etc I would LOVE for you to email me. I am so lost on this stuff. All I know is a few simple things. Only nice and respectful answers please!!! Thanks so much. May 26th 2007 is the date :)

Must you give a wedding gift to a couple living together who has already eloped and has a reception? I have been invited to a wedding reception for a couple who eloped in Vegas. Prior to eloping, they were living together. Is it customary to give a gift if they already have everything they need for a life together? The invitation to the reception didn't specify. What do you think? I have always been told that gifts were for a couple to start their life together. There is no registry included in the inviation. It isn't a very big wedding about 50-70 guests. We are on a budget so that is why I didn't hire a professional MC. I believe the place that we are having it at will supply one but I really want to know for myself how everything should flow. The times for everything, wedding & reception is 5pm-10pm.

I'm just looking for input from people who have already gone through all this I suppose. Any help at all would be great!
What are some tips to save on food at an evening wedding reception (dinner)? Our budget for the entire wedding is $5000 and it looks like the food is going to be the largest expense. We're having around 80-100 people attend and I'd like some tips to keep the food cost down. I'm having a lot of out of towners on my side too. Thanks for any advice.

It has a cement floor though, and high ceilings. How can I decorate it to look less industrial for a wedding reception?

What should I wear to the wedding reception? I'm going to a wedding tomorrow at 1:30 and I'm wearing a black dress with black heels. The reception isn't until 6:00 so I'm probably going to want to get out of my heels, and wear something a little more casual to the reception, so I can dance! What is/isn't appropriate to wear to a wedding reception? I could just wear black flip-flops with my black dress, but I'm not sure how that would look. I'll probably have to try my dress on again and see if that would work or not... Otherwise I have a summery/day dress thingy I could wear, but I don't think I have any shoes that look good with that! What should I wear to the reception?!
