wedding....reception....?
When you get married, when during or after the reception is the bride supposed to change into a dress for when her and her groom leave?

- after the last dance I would say... but I dont think i have seen that done.. Every wedding I have seen they leave in what they wore for the wedding..
- They usually change right before they leave for the honeymoon.
- people don't do that anymore. normally the bride and groom are the last people to leave the reception. save ur money, you don't need another outfit
- I wasn't planning on changing til we got to the hotel afterwards, but we're not actually leaving til the next day. If you are leaving that day, it really depends how long you want to stay in your dress. Had we been leaving day of, i'd change after the last dance i think.
- People don't do that anymore. The bride and groom are usually the last ones to leave the reception. We changed into jeans to help pack up the gifts into our parents cars and then headed to the hotel.
- I've never seen this done at a wedding, but I think it's traditionally supposed to be changing if they are going directly off to the honeymoon/airport, and if thats the case then towards the end of the wedding, just before leaving. However, I think you should do whatever feels right for you and your fiance and family. Have fun and dont worry about what the "Traditional" way of doing things is.
- Usually, the bride and groom change clothes before leaving the reception if they are leaving immediatley for their honeymoon, and their formal wear would be both uncomfortable and inappropriate for travel. If the couple is going home, or to a local hotel room, they usually don't change clothes at all.
- That's only necessary if you're going straight from the reception to the airport, and in that case it would be after the last dance, everyone shuffles outside while you change, then have sparklers or something fun to see you off.
- Believe me, you and your groom will definitely be the last people to leave the reception. Unless you already have it planned that you willleave early and everyone bids you farewell. You could change into your outfit while the guests are dancing. Just remember that you'll need help to get out of your dress, and you'll need someone to take it home with them.
- usually it is after the last dance, the DJ announces it. then you run off and get changed. sometimes this is when people throw the birdseed or do the bubbles if you did not do it at the church. but a lot of brides and grooms tend to be the last ones at the reception, helping to do the break down and what not.
- Right before they leave for the honey moon
- This is really rarely done these days. I didn't do it. Wanted to stay at the reception as long as possible, before my husband whisked me away. But if you really want to do it, the best time would be after the late lunch, when the dancing is resumed -- like if your dance is going til 1, your lunch would probably be around 11, so you could leave at 12.
