Wedding Favor Ideas??
Does anyone have any interesting, original, non-typical ideas for a wedding favor? Along the lines of a painting (but I can't do that). I'm sick of the same coffee cup sets and so on...

- Alright here is a smile one that many Italians do... You get 3-6 Colored Almonds (White most likely) and put them in little bags and give them as favors xD. It might sound cheap but it looks nice if you decorate them well :P.
- It depends on your theme...I am having a picture theme so obviously my favors are small frames.
- I like the idea of a little picture that is painted and says your wedding date and names on it. With some pretty picture of scenery or something in the background. Then of course witha little frame
- Salvador Dali does beautiful prints, and I think you might be able to get them at a reasonable price, but I'm not sure how they will fit with the theme of your wedding. You could have an artist come and do characters of your guests. You could have someone do something with blown glass. You could give gift certificates-(not artsy, but always appreciated). Let's see... Take a beautiful still life pic of somewhere in your area and frame it for each of the guests. Honestly, when you do the favors, think of what you and your family would enjoy as a guest at someone else's wedding. It will help put things in perspective.
- Hand out personalized CDs of the some of the music that was played at your wedding. With Light Scribe you can actually burn a wedding photo of you and your spouse ONTO the disc and for the cover for the cd case, you can print out pics of you and your spouse along with the date and your names. This makes a GREAT wedding favour!
- I am using personalizef can huggers (koozies) when I get married. I attended a wedding last weekend that gave those reusable shopping bags that they are selling at certain stores now for going green. I really liked that idea.... It isn't like a painting... but they are unique ideas.
- If you like art, consider taking pictures of something that you love-your wedding or reception site, a local landscape, you and your fiance', your family pet, etc. Miniaturize the picture online at a site like snapfish, or at a store like Walmart. Buy inexpensive miniature frames for the pictures (try eBay, or a dollhouse site). You can even use them as place cards and put your guests' names in front of the picture. Dover Publications carries lovely little books of poems, plays, sonnets, etc. They cost around $1-3 a piece, usually include over 100 poems, and the books themselves are actually pretty. My fiance' and I are ordering A Midsummer Night's Dream for our favors, and I am going to make ribbon book marks in our colors to dress up the books a little further. I'm also thinking of burning CD's with our reception playlist. We have a CD LightScribe function and can make custom CD's. Jean M has some cool CD jackets (I'm sure there are other sites as well, but that's the only one I've found so far).
- About the almonds they are ment to be white, sugar coated almonds the numbers in the bag/box even number of almonds is ment to be bad luck If you went with the almonds go with five as they are a representation of the couple and their future children. Five almonds symbolise love, fidelity longevity, fertility and happiness. How about something like this print http://cgi.ebay.com/Personalized-Wedding-Print-of-Bride-Groom-Gift-Item_W0QQitemZ260221954540QQihZ016QQcategoryZ41511QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
