How to rent a cooler for wedding reception?
My wedding and reception is going to be at the house we are remodeling. We will not have any appliances in the house at the time of the reception. Is there any way I could rent a cooler to keep food cold?

- wouldn't it be easier to borrow aunt edna's old basement refrigerator? how are you going to do this? how are you going to heat the food. time to bring in catered barbecue and paper plates.
- You can usually rent coolers from an event rental company. You may be limited by size, though. Depending on the company, you may only be able to get a commercial size cooler. Are you making all of the food for your reception? If not and you are hiring a catering company, the caterers will probably want to create an on-site kitchen. In this case, the caterers may 1) have the cooler or 2) be dealing with the event rental company directly and can order it for you. If you are using a catering company, make sure to let them know all of the challenges of your event space (no appliances, but will you have electricity? Rental coolers will probably be the ones you plug in not the type you'd take to a tailgate party). Hope this helps! Sara www.VendorBar.com
- If you are unable to call a rental company who rents party event items, you will have to go with another option: Perhaps rent a generator and place it away from the party goers because they are quite loud. Or, ask a neighbor if you can run an extension cord, if possible. Or, use some good old ingenuity: get a canoe, a row boat or a dingy or small blow up pool, put it in the shade and fill that thing to the brim with ice.
